PM Masrour Barzani Stresses the Importance of Protecting Kurdish People’s Rights in Syria
ARK News.. Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, received a Turkish delegation led by Ambassador Ali Riza Güney, Director General for Iraq and Iran at Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties based on mutual interests and reviewed the broader situation in Iraq and the wider region.
Discussions also addressed outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, including constitutional rights and the Region’s fair share of the federal budget.
Both sides exchanged views on Turkey’s peace process and the latest developments in Syria. Prime Minister Barzani underlined the importance of safeguarding the rights of the Kurdish people as well as all other communities in the country.
