Arrest of Several Terrorism Court Judges in Syria
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights source reported that Syrian authorities have arrested a number of judges from terrorism courts following their summons by the Minister of Justice to review the progress of work.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 18 judges have been identified among those arrested. Their assets and funds have also been seized. So far, Syrian authorities have not issued any official statement regarding these developments or the reasons behind the arrests.
The source clarified that several of the detained terrorism court judges played a key role in issuing harsh sentences against hundreds of Syrians over the past years, including political activists, opposition members, and civilians accused of “collaborating with hostile entities” or “spreading false news damaging the prestige of the state.”
