Wall Street Journal: Ousted Assad Regime Forcibly Separated Hundreds of Syrian Children from Their Families
ARK News.. The Wall Street Journal has revealed that the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad forcibly separated hundreds of Syrian children from their families during the years of war, placing them in orphanages under its control.
According to the report, at least 300 children were transferred to state-run orphanages between 2014 and 2018, out of approximately 3,700 children officially listed as missing.
The newspaper cited sources indicating that the children were taken either after being detained alongside their families or during mass arrests and home raids, with the aim of using them as leverage against political dissidents and opposition figures.
