Shaibani: Lifting of U.S. and EU Sanctions Will Have Positive Impact on Syria

ARK News.. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Ayman Safadi held a joint press conference on Monday at Tishreen Palace in Damascus.

Speaking during the conference, Minister Shaibani stated: “Our diplomatic efforts have culminated in the lifting of European sanctions, just days after the U.S. decision to do the same.”

He added that Syria and Jordan had signed an agreement to establish a High Coordinating Council aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in ways that serve the interests of both countries.

Shaibani noted that Syria and Jordan face shared security threats, and described their evolving relationship as a promising sign of future prosperity.

He emphasized that the removal of American and European sanctions would have a positive impact not only on Syria, but on the broader region as well.

“The economic coordination with Jordan began on the very first day following liberation,” he said. “Jordan was even more eager than we were to move forward. The lifting of sanctions will help deepen this cooperation in transport, energy, and across all sectors.”
