Damascus and PYD Administration Reach Understandings on Amending Constitutional Declaration
ARK News,, A Syrian human rights source has revealed that representatives of the Damascus government and the Autonomous Administration led by the PYD are engaged in political dialogue to explore mechanisms for amending key provisions of the recent Syrian constitutional declaration.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the ongoing negotiations aim to reach a consensual framework that guarantees the representation of the interests of residents in northern and eastern Syria. The talks come amid a broader shift toward political dialogue and reconciliation following years of conflict.
The understandings reportedly emerged after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) objected to the inclusion of provisions not originally part of the March 10 agreement signed earlier this year between the two sides.
A joint follow-up committee has been established to review the terms of the agreement and to ensure that the emerging consensus contributes to stability in northeastern Syria—steering away from exclusion and military escalation.
