ARK News.. The Syrian Presidency has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike targeting the vicinity of the Presidential Palace in Damascus, denouncing the attack as a “dangerous escalation” and affirming that “there can be no compromise on the security and sovereignty of the nation.”

In a statement released by the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Presidency declared: “The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli airstrike that targeted the Presidential Palace in Damascus. This act represents a grave escalation against the institutions of the state and its sovereignty.”

The statement went on to describe the strike as a continuation of “reckless actions aimed at destabilizing the country, exacerbating security crises, and undermining national security and the unity of the Syrian people.”

Calling on the international community and Arab nations, the Syrian Presidency urged solidarity with Syria in the face of what it termed “aggressive violations that contravene international laws and conventions.” It appealed for a unified stance and full support “to defend the legitimate rights of Arab peoples against Israeli aggression.”

The Presidency further emphasized that such attacks—whether foreign or domestic—would not succeed in weakening the resolve of the Syrian people or in derailing the state’s efforts to restore peace and stability. “Security agencies are conducting all necessary investigations to hold those responsible accountable,” the statement read, vowing continued determination to thwart any threats to the nation’s safety.

Reaffirming its commitment to national unity, the Presidency called on all parties to engage in dialogue and cooperation, warning against “efforts to prolong the crisis through misinformation and destabilization.” It asserted, “Syria remains steadfast on the path of reconstruction and reform, undeterred by challenges.”

The statement concluded with a clear declaration: “There will be no compromise on Syria’s sovereignty and security. We will continue to defend the rights of our people by all available means.”

Earlier on Friday, Israel confirmed that its forces had carried out an airstrike near the Presidential Palace in the Syrian capital.
