Explosive Drone Targets Peshmerga Position North of Duhok
ARK News.. An explosive-laden drone targeted a military site belonging to the Zeravani Peshmerga forces in the Amadiya district, north of Duhok province in the Kurdistan Region.
According to Kurdish media sources, the attack occurred at exactly 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, over Dava Hill, opposite the village of Belava. The drone exploded over a newly established Zeravani Peshmerga outpost, which had been set up just the day before.
The sources added that Peshmerga forces attempted to intercept and neutralize the drone before it could reach their position. However, the drone detonated, injuring two Peshmerga members with minor wounds. Both were transported to the Amadiya Emergency Hospital for treatment.
As of now, the party responsible for launching the drone remains unidentified. It is unclear whether the attack came from Turkish forces or the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), amid the ongoing conflict between the two sides in the area—a conflict that has severely impacted local residents as well as the agricultural and tourism sectors.
