United Nations Plans to Provide $1.3 Billion in Aid to Syria

ARK News.. The United Nations plans to offer $1.3 billion in aid to Syria over the next three years to support reconstruction efforts and revitalize the economy.

According to a report by Reuters quoting Abdullah Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, the UN's plan is not limited to financial assistance alone but also includes a comprehensive strategy aimed at supporting all aspects of Syria's economic and social recovery.

Dardari stated, "The full support plan for Syria over three years amounts to $1.3 billion. This is not just a number; it is a comprehensive strategy that covers all areas of support."

He further highlighted that the assistance will include the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, launching social protection programs, and rehabilitating infrastructure.

Dardari also noted that a roundtable meeting on Syria will be held next week, with participation from the World Bank and the Saudi Minister of Finance. "This sends a strong message to the world and to the Syrian people that the largest financial institutions are ready to support them."
