U.S. Embassy in Syria Warns American Citizens of Increased Threats Ahead of Eid al-Fitr
ARK News.. The U.S. Embassy in Syria has issued a security warning to American citizens, cautioning them about heightened risks of potential attacks during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday.
In a statement published on its official website late Friday, the embassy said, "The U.S. Department of State warns American citizens of an increased threat of attacks during Eid al-Fitr celebrations, which may target embassies, international organizations, and Syrian public institutions in Damascus."
The embassy further noted that "possible attack methods may include armed assailants, attackers on foot, or the use of explosive devices."
The advisory also reiterated that the travel warning for Syria remains at Level 4 — "Do Not Travel" — due to the significant risks posed by terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage-taking, armed conflict, and the potential for arbitrary detention.
