Over 1,300 Killed in Syria’s Coastal Region Since March 6
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights source has revealed that more than 1,300 people have been killed in Syria’s coastal region since clashes erupted between remnants of Bashar al-Assad’s forces and Syrian security troops.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, as of Monday, March 10, 2025, the total death toll—including civilians and military personnel—has risen to 1,311 following a security operation launched in response to Alawite militant attacks on security forces on Thursday, March 6.
The casualties include:
231 security and defense ministry personnel
250 Alawite militants (Assad loyalist remnants)
830 civilians, who were reportedly killed in retaliatory operations since the outbreak of the violence.
Meanwhile, Syrian state news agency SANA quoted Defense Ministry spokesman Hassan Abdel Ghani, who announced on Monday that "the military operation has concluded" following the "successful achievement of all designated objectives."
