Statement from the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government
ARK News.. The Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has issued a statement regarding the recent gatherings of employees in Sulaymaniyah over the past few days.
The ministry reaffirmed that the legitimate demands of employees and various societal groups in the region have always been a priority for the KRG. However, it warned that certain internal and external parties, including the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), are attempting to exploit these demands for dubious purposes aimed at destabilizing security in the region.
Full Statement:
For the past several days, a number of employees have gathered in the Sulaymaniyah area. The KRG has consistently prioritized the legitimate demands of employees and various social groups within the Kurdistan Region. In this regard, the government has been working closely with the federal government in Baghdad to address these concerns, and significant progress has been made. We continue to engage with Baghdad to resolve outstanding issues.
It is important to note that certain individuals and internal and external entities in Iraq are seeking to exploit these demands for their own questionable agendas. Various affiliated groups, outlawed organizations, and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), among others, are attempting to take advantage of the situation to destabilize security in other parts of the Kurdistan Region. By doing so, they aim to intertwine the legitimate demands of employees with their own objectives.
While we respect the right to protest, any attempts to undermine the security of the Kurdistan Region will be prevented. No actions outside the framework of laws and regulations will be tolerated.
