Russia: The Kurdish Issue in Syria Is a Sensitive Internal Matter
ARK News.. Moscow has reiterated its clear stance on resolving the Kurdish issue in Syria, emphasizing that it has consistently upheld this position.
In response to a question from Kurdistan 24 via email, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, “Ensuring lasting stability in Syria and creating favorable conditions for post-conflict recovery can only be achieved through a comprehensive political process based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254, with the participation of all key political forces and ethnic groups in the country, including, of course, the Kurdish nation.”
The ministry further emphasized, “Moscow’s position on the Kurdish issue is clear and has been reaffirmed repeatedly. We see no reason to alter our fundamental views.”
It also stressed the importance of upholding Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Regarding the Kurdish region, the ministry stated, “We firmly believe that this is a sensitive issue and an internal matter that concerns Syria alone.”
