Unprecedented arrest campaign in Eastern Ghouta
ARK News.. Syrian media sources have revealed that the Syrian regime has launched an unprecedented conscription campaign in Eastern Ghouta, with military police and security forces carrying out house raids.
According to the Syria TV website, the Syrian regime has arrested more than 200 young men wanted for compulsory and reserve military service over the past two days. The campaign has targeted several cities and towns, most notably Doma, Saqba and Kafr Batna, sparking widespread public discontent.
The source added that the regime has also begun recalling conscripts who were on leave, ordering them to return to their units immediately. The move comes after opposition factions advanced into Aleppo as part of the "Deterring Aggression" battle, making gains in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib.
In addition, local sources from the Ahrar Horan League reported that since Friday, Syrian regime officers have been making urgent calls to conscripts from Daraa province who are on leave, demanding that they return to their military units immediately.
