Qamishlo … A sit-in of the Kurdish National Council on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day

ARK News: On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of World Human Rights Day Kurdish National Council set up in Syria on Monday 10/12/2018, a mass sit-in to condemn serious human rights violations and what the Kurdish people exposed to violations that target its Kurdish cause, in front of the UN headquarters located on the tourist street at 12 noon.

Parties affiliated under the roof of the Kurdish National Council and the Kurdish masses and some of the rights organizations and federations participated in the sit-in.

The speech of the Council was delivered by Mr.: Mohsen Taher, the chairman of the Local Councils of the Kurdish National Council, in Kurdish language and Fasla Youssef a member of the presidential body of the Kurdish National Council in Arabic one, where they called in their speech that the human rights organizations to stand on violations by the PYD against the members of the Kurdish National Council, and the need to release all political prisoners, and called for the cessation of crimes and violations that occur in Afrin.

A leader of the Kurdish National Council, Hassan Saleh told to the site of the Kurdish National Council in Syria saying: “The Council today sets-in to condemn the PYD's practices of arrests against members of the Council's Parties, and on the other hand, we call for the opening of the offices of the Council Parties and the exercise of their political activity in full freedom, and also demands that the PYD should cease compulsory recruitment and not impose its policy on education and allows students to practice their education until finding a solution for the Kurdish issue”.

In another statement of Mr. Hassan Ramzi, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, saying: :Today we stand in front of the United Nations (UN) on the occasion of the International Day of Human Rights to demand the rights of the Kurdish people, who has suffered years of deprivation of rights, adding that today is a global day and there are many peoples have not got their rights until the moment, so we call on the United Nations to stand on the issue of the Kurdish people in Syria's future constitution to achieve full legitimate rights”.

Mr. Kazim Khalifa, a member of the Executive Office of the Kurdish Reform Movement in Syria, also stated saying: "This day is the International Day of Human Rights, and we Kurdish people do not have a Kurdish state, however, there are arbitrary measures against our people, and that the Kurdish people are persecuted and trying by various means to prove their rights, but the chauvinism and tyrannical regimes always make the Kurdish people an internal enemy, and on this day we hope that our voice will reach the organizations concerned, and we also demand that the PYD should cease its practices that do not serve the Kurdish cause, and we demand the release of all political prisoners from its prisons".
