
More than 750 American soldiers leave an African country
ARK News.. The United States has completed the withdrawal of all its forces from “Air Base 101” in Niamey, the capital of Niger, according to a joint statement by the two countries.
“The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Niger and the United States Department of Defence announce that the withdrawal of American forces and equipment from the 101st Air Base in Niamey has been completed,” the statement said.
It is noteworthy that by next September 15, the United States must also withdraw its forces from Agadiz city in northern Niger.
According to the statement, 766 American soldiers have already left Niger.
The American and Nigerien sides announced that they had reached a disengagement agreement, and American forces deployed as part of an "anti-jihadist mission" began to leave, after Niamey said that their presence was illegal.
