The President of the Kurdistan Region and the President of the UAE discuss several important issues
ARK News… Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, on Friday 24/5/2024, visited the United Arab Emirates, and was received in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement on the Kurdistan Region Presidency website, during the friendly meeting, the UAE’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region were discussed, and the two sides exchanged views on the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and Erbil-Baghdad relations, as well as on the latest developments in the region.
The statement added that the two sides emphasized strengthening relations in the economic and commercial fields and cooperation in the field of energy, and talked about investment opportunities and areas and the operation of Emirati capital in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially in the field of infrastructure and development projects.
Regarding the situation in the Middle East and its outcomes, the two parties agreed on the importance of joint action, cooperation and multi-faceted international solidarity in order to maintain security and stability and limit the further expansion and spread of problems.
Erbil and Baghdad's relations with neighboring countries and with the region, climate change and its consequences, and a number of issues of common interest constituted another aspect of the meeting.
After completing an official visit to the United Arab Emirates and meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates, in Abu Dhabi, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, returned on Friday evening, 5/24/2024, to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
