Human rights organizations: We are facing a series of systematic violations against the political movement, specifically the “Kurdish National Council

ARK News... Human rights organizations condemned and denounced the "Revolutionary Youth" movement's attack on the offices of the Kurdish National Council parties in Syria, calling on local and international human rights bodies to take action to condemn "these successive crimes."

The human rights organizations said in a statement seen by ARK News, that they had once again received “news that a group from the Revolutionary Youth affiliated with the Democratic Union Party (PYD) had burned the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria” in the city of Qamishlo, on Tuesday, May 14. 2024.

It added: "This is not the first time that the Revolutionary Youth organization has attacked the offices of the Kurdish National Council parties in Syria. Rather, we are facing a successive series of continuous and systematic violations against the political movement, specifically the Kurdish National Council and the parties under its roof" in the (self-administration) areas affiliated with the Democratic Union Party.

The human rights organizations' statement stated that, during the past two months, a group of offices affiliated with the Kurdish National Council parties in Syria were burned, including "the offices of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in Kobani, Amouda, Qamishlo, Terbespiye, Derik, and Girke Lage, and the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Unity Party in Qamishlo."

The statement stated that “masked groups from the Revolutionary Youth organization arrested a number of young men from the Kurdish National Council parties during the past two months,” and they are (Rakan Ahmed, Marwan Hussein Liyani, Ahmed Sofi, and Hussam Dorsin) in Girke Lage and Derik, in addition to (Saad Kawa). Kunrash, Saleh Hamid Bakri, Nasser Jaro, and Majdal Daham Haj Qassim) in the city of Amouda.

“Flagrant violations of all international laws and divine and moral laws.”

The organizations said: “Therefore, we, the undersigned human rights and civil organizations, continue to receive with more regret and concern what this organization Revolutionary Youth is doing against activists, civilians, and the political movement in the regions (so-called north-eastern Syria), and we express our strong condemnation and deep concern about the continuation of the arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance of Kurdish citizens and political activists in the Autonomous Administration areas, as well as the burning of the offices of political parties and the Kurdish National Council in Syria, are part of a systematic series of ongoing violations.”

It added: “We express our deep concern about the fate of the forcibly disappeared, as their detention in isolation from the outside world constitutes a flagrant violation of basic rights and freedoms, and is inconsistent with adherence to all local, regional and international laws, charters and treaties concerned with the protection of human rights...” The organizations believe that “what the organization has done is a flagrant violation of international laws related to human rights and freedom of opinion and expression, and a blatant violation of all international laws and divine and moral laws. They must be brought to a public trial in which human rights organizations and independent lawyers chosen by the families of the victims will participate.”

It also appealed to local and international human rights bodies to take action "to condemn these successive, ongoing and systematic crimes, which are part of a series of violations by this organization, under the guidance of its supporters, and to hold the Democratic Union Party responsible for these crimes."
