Dohuk... A delegation from the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union participates in the “Book Signing Carnival” in the city of Akre

ARK News… The Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union participated in the "Book Signing Carnival" organized by the Cultural Movement in Akre, Duhok Governorate, in the Kurdistan Region.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok, the Cultural Movement, on Thursday, 9/5/2024, organized the first book signing carnival in Akre, Duhok Governorate.

A delegation from the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union, and eighty writers, poets, and novelists, participated in the carnival, in addition to those interested in the political field, cultural affairs, and national and social figures from all governorates of the Kurdistan Region, and other parts of Kurdistan.

During the festival ceremony, a dialogue session was held in which the importance of the role of books, culture and knowledge in the progress and prosperity of peoples was highlighted.

The first cultural festival in Akre concluded with a poetry evening by the great poets Muayyad Tayyib and Qubad Jalil Zada, and a group of folkloric songs from the heritage of the Kurdish people.
