ARK News… On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria met with the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government to the European Union, Dr. Dilawar Azkahi, at the representative’s headquarters in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. They discussed political developments and the positions of the European Union countries on the Kurdish issue and ways to strengthen them.

The delegation included Muhammad Ismail, Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and Abdul Basit Hamo, Member of the Party's Central Committee.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of important political developments related to the region, the positions of the European Union countries and their relationship with the issue of the Kurdish people and ways to strengthen it, the political process in Syria and the region, and ways to deal with the European Union in various files of common interest.

The two sides discussed the importance of the role of the Kurdish community in Europe and ways to activate it, strengthening the role of the Kurdish National Council as an address and representative of the Kurdish people in Syria, and enhancing communication and coordination between it and various Kurdish activities in Europe.

The meeting focused on discussing the latest developments in the Kurdish political arena, as the delegation briefed the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government on the latest developments in Syrian Kurdistan, and the challenges facing the Kurdish issue in light of the current regional and international conditions.
