An announcement issued by the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council

ARK News: The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council held its regular meeting on 23/11/2018, and after a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of Kurdistan and the Kurds and the martyrs of the Syrian revolution, the points on its agenda were examined, and then the received messages were read and the activities of the offices of the Council were reviewed and decisions were taken that would improve and develop its political and public performance, on the political side, the Secretariat stopped at the violations and crimes which committed by the armed groups lengthily against the people of Afrin, and what can be done to alleviate their suffering, and strongly condemned these crimes of killing and detaining and considering the property of the people and their products spoils for the theft and sharing and the practice of resettlement and systematic demographic change, Turkey has the responsibility to deter these groups and remove them from the region, and called on the international community to ensure the return of Afrin refugees to it and hand over its administration and security to its people and provide them with international protection.

The Secretariat also called on Turkey to stop its threats to invade the Kurdish areas and demanded PYD at the same time to abandon what Turkey is taking as a pretext for its intervention and also demanded not to be isolated from decisions which affect the fate of the Kurdish people and its future, and stressed that the release of some detainees from its prisons is not a substitute for the closure of the file of political arrest and the creation of an appropriate climate for dialogue and reassuring for the Kurdish people, the Secretariat also called upon all Kurdish political, cultural and community actors to seek to unify the situation and not to ignore what they had agreed upon with the Kurdish National Council in their vision of adopting a political solution, and to work on building a federal Syria in a pluralistic democratic parliamentary system whose constitution recognizes the national rights of the Kurdish people and efforts to win more friends and reassure everyone concerned about the Syrian issue about the Kurds' national demands within the framework of a democratic Syria for all Syrians.

The meeting stopped at the slow pace of the political process and the delay in the formation of the constitutional committee and the system placed obstacles to it and called on the United Nations and the relevant countries to take serious steps to complete its formation and carry out its tasks, in this regard, the Secretariat called on the Coalition to abide by the document signed between it and the Council and invited the friends of the Kurdish people and the opposition to the Kurds in their representation in the Constitutional Committee and the committees emanating, and stand by their national cause and their constitutional demands it stressed that solving the Kurdish issue and meeting the demands of the Kurdish people and the demands of the rest of the components is the real way to achieve democracy in the country and the main factor in providing the security, stability, and prosperity sought by the Syrians and sought by the international community.
