A Russian military transport plane carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners crashed in western Russia

ARK News… The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a Russian military transport plane, Il-76, crashed today, Wednesday, in Belgorod Province, southwestern Russia, carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners and 9 crew members on board.

The Ministry of Defense statement said: “On January 24, around 11:00 Moscow time, an Il-76 plane crashed in the Belgorod region during a scheduled flight.”

The statement added: "There were 65 Ukrainian prisoners on board the plane, 6 crew members, and 3 escort members."

A video was circulated through the media of a plane crash, said to be that of the plane whose downing was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense today.

Belgorod District Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel: “An accident occurred in Korochansky, and investigation and emergency teams are currently working at the accident site. We will announce the circumstances of the accident later.”
