AR; News… The Syrian Network for Human Rights said, in its report, that about 100 civilians were killed in Syria in August, including 21 children.

The report records the killing of 97 civilians, including 21 children and 3 women, at the hands of the conflict parties and the controlling forces in Syria in August 2023, of whom the Syrian regime killed 17 civilians, including 5 children. While the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) killed 15 civilians, including a woman, and the International Coalition forces killed 1 civilian.

All armed opposition factions / the National Army killed 3 civilians, and Russian forces killed 5 civilians, including 2 children and 1 woman, and HTS killed 4 civilians, including 1 child and 1 woman, and 52 civilians, including 14 children, were killed by other parties.

According to the report, August witnessed a continuation of civilian casualties due to mines in separate governorates and regions of Syria, where the death of 5 civilians was documented, bringing the death toll due to mines since the beginning of 2023 to 96 civilians, including 24 children and 8 women.

The report called on the Security Council to take additional measures after the issuance of Resolution No. 2254, and stressed the need to refer the Syrian file to the International Criminal Court and to hold all those involved in crimes against humanity and war crimes accountable.

He also called on all the relevant United Nations agencies to exert more efforts in terms of food and medical humanitarian aid in the areas where the fighting had stopped, and in the camps for the internally displaced, and to follow up on the countries that pledged the necessary donations.
