President Barzani offering condolences: Bishop Raban played an important role in supporting the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people

ARK News… President Masoud Barzani offered his condolences to the family of Archbishop Raban al-Qas, saying, "He had a great role in spreading the culture of religious and national coexistence in Kurdistan and supporting the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people."

Bishop Raban Al-Qas, a prominent Christian figure and former bishop of the Chaldean Church in Douc, died today, Monday, at the age of 74, in Azadi Hospital in Duhok.

In his message, President Barzani said, "Bishop Raban al-Qasis had a major role in spreading the culture of religious and national coexistence in Kurdistan and supporting the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people."

President Barzani continued in his message, "I ask God to have mercy on the soul of the late Archbishop Raban, to dwell him in Paradise, and to inspire patience and peace for all."

Bishop Raban is from the village of "Kani" in the Amide district, and his body will be buried tomorrow, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in a ceremony in the "Kani" complex in his hometown, the Amide district.
