The National Coalition calls for an end to the military escalation of the Syrian regime and Russia in northern Syria

The political body of the Syrian National Coalition held its periodic meeting, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, and discussed the military escalation of the Assad regime and Russia on civilian areas in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, the fall of a number of victims, as well as the latest political developments.

The attendees stressed that the methodology of the regime and Russia in the military escalation is to block the way for any political movement has become clear and exposed to all countries, stressing the need for there to be a serious international move to stop this escalation and activate the path of the political process to implement international resolutions, foremost of which is the Geneva Declaration and Resolutions 2118 and 2254 .

The attendees called for an investigation into the refugee boat sinking on June 14 off the Greek coast, which was carrying dozens of Syrians.

The attendees discussed European and American moves to hold Bashar al-Assad and his regime accountable for the war crimes committed against the Syrian people over the past 12 years.
