Syrians are at the forefront of the number of refugees around the world
ARK News... Syrian refugees ranked first in the number of displaced people around the world, according to the Global Trends in Forced Displacement Report 2022 issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
According to the report, the number of Syrian refugees around the world has reached 6.6 million, and it indicated that Lebanon ranked second in the world in terms of the number of refugees on its soil, relative to the population, i.e. one refugee for every 7 citizens at the end of 2022.
In this context, the report confirmed that Turkey hosts the largest number of refugees worldwide, with nearly 3.6 million refugees, followed by Iran (3.4 million), Colombia (2.5 million), and Germany (2.1 million).
The report on forced displacement around the world in the wake of repression, wars, violence, and human rights violations revealed that the number of displaced persons once again reached a historically high of 108.4 million people by the end of 2022, compared to 89.3 million refugees at the end of 2021.
