A close relative of one of the victims told ARK that the boat was carrying twenty immigrants who left Turkey towards Greece, in an attempt to reach European countries, most of them are Syrians, Kurds, and Arabs.
He continued by saying: A few days after the accident, the bodies of some of the victims were found, including an Afghani and a Syrian, in addition to the body of Sherin Kalo, who hails from the village of Kurzele Sherawa, Juliana Nadim Najjar, 18 years old, from the village of Kimar, and Zaynab Sabri Faris, from the village of Ma’mala of Rajo town, in the countryside of Afrin, in Syrian Kurdistan.
