The Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria commemorates the 66th anniversary of its founding in Derik
ARK News… The Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, celebrated the sixty-sixth anniversary of its birth in the city of Derik, Syrian Kurdistan.
The commemoration ceremony took place in the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, in the presence of party members and a group of representatives of the Kurdish movement parties in the city of Derik.
Journalist Ahmed Sofi gave a lecture in which he talked about the history of the party's founding, the political circumstances that preceded its founding, and the first founders of the party.
On June 14, 1957, a group of Kurdish intellectuals and politicians (Osman Sabri, Hamza Nuweran, Abdel Hamid Darwish, Rashid Hamo, Shawkat Hannan, Khalil Muhammad, Muhammad Ali Khoja, Sheikh Muhammad Isa) took the initiative to establish the first Kurdish political party in Syria, which is the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria.
