A car production plant in the Kurdistan Region

ARK News… The head of the Investment Commission in the Kurdistan Region, Dr. Muhammad Shukri, on Wednesday, announced the start of negotiations with several German companies to establish the first car production plant in the region.

Shukri told (BasNews): "We held discussions with several German companies to establish the first factory to produce cars in the Kurdistan Region, to export them to the markets, and for the region to be a center for these companies that will import spare parts to produce these German cars."

He added, "The implementation of such projects is an important step and will strengthen the industrial sector in the Kurdistan Region and increase job opportunities," noting that "the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, has expressed his full support for the establishment of such factories, and we will announce the full details later."

The head of the Investment Commission in the Kurdistan Region confirmed, "The Commission has approved the project and is ready to provide them with the land while providing all the necessary facilities and support."

It is noteworthy that many international car companies have branches and sales agents in the Kurdistan Region, but there is no car production plant in the region.
