Patel: America supports the resumption of exporting Kurdistan Region's oil
ARK News... The US State Department's deputy spokesman, Vedant Patel, in a press conference, on Monday, June 5, 2023, said that Washington supports the resumption of exporting the Kurdistan Region's oil.
Patel added that we are in constant contact with the political parties, stressing that passing the federal budget is a major factor for the prosperity of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
He pointed out that "passing the federal budget" in the Iraqi parliament will attract more US and foreign investments to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
On April 4, 2023, in the presence of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, Erbil, and Baghdad signed an agreement to resume oil exports through the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).
