The Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government issues instructions for the prevention of hemorrhagic fever
ARK News… The Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Regional Government, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, issued instructions to the health departments in the provinces and independent departments in the Kurdistan Region to take urgent measures to protect against hemorrhagic fever, including slaughtering livestock in licensed places and preventing it in other unfit places in addition to requiring butchers to wear medical clothes and gloves and to maintain the cleanliness of the shops through the use of sterile materials.
The ministry said in its statement that these instructions come to butchers and citizens as well during the slaughter of livestock and the purchase of meat to prevent hemorrhagic fever.
The statement stressed the importance of increasing the level of coordination between the health directorates and the veterinary directorates regarding spraying medicinal pesticides for animals.
Earlier in May, the Kurdistan Regional Government allocated about 3 billion dinars to combat hemorrhagic fever.
A number of confirmed cases of this disease have been recorded in the Kurdistan Region during the past few years.
