The US Embassy in Damascus announces a scholarship to pursue higher education opportunities in America for Syrian refugees

ARK News… The US Embassy in Damascus on Thursday, June 1, 2023, announced a scholarship to enroll in American colleges and universities for Syrian students classified as refugees to pursue higher education opportunities in the United States.

The US Embassy stated on its official Facebook page that the Office of Near Eastern Affairs and the Regional Platform for Syria are pleased to announce a notice of funding opportunities to increase the access of Syrian refugees abroad to scholarship information and other forms of support to pursue higher education opportunities in the United States.

The embassy added that the primary goal of this funding opportunity is to advance the US policy goal of encouraging enrollment in US colleges and universities for Syrian students who are classified as refugees according to the protocols of the national government or the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

It added the call for proposals will end on July 21, 2023, at 17:00 Syrian time.
