ARK News... Yesterday night, May 28, 2023, the cities of Afrin, Jenderes, and other areas in Syrian Kurdistan witnessed a state of chaos and heavy gunfire to celebrate the issuance of the Turkish election results, which led to civilian casualties, in addition to creating a state of terror and panic among the people.

This came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Sunday evening, announced that he had won the second round of the presidential elections.

A source from the city of Afrin told ARK: Immediately after the Turkish election results were announced, the gunmen began firing live bullets in celebration, apart from creating a state of fear among civilians, a number of whom were injured by stray bullets.

The source confirmed that three were wounded and their injuries were light.

A second source confirmed that Al-Amshat gunmen in Shiye town used heavy weapons to celebrate the issued results.

Afrin and its environs and villages have been suffering for the past five years from security chaos, amidst a large spread of weapons and militants in the populated areas.
