ARK News… Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has claimed that countries that side with Russia in its war against Ukraine will be given nuclear weapons.

Lukashenko has long been a staunch supporter of Putin, most recently providing military support to Moscow in its invasion of Ukraine, a country bordered by Belarus to the south. Russian forces were allowed to conduct military exercises on Belarusian soil and later entered Ukraine from Belarus when the invasion began last February.

Although no Belarusian forces have entered the battlefield in Ukraine, its support for Russia has sparked controversy on the world stage.

Lukashenko claimed in an interview published by "Ukrainiska Pravda" that any country that joins the "Union State" agreement between Russia and Belarus will be supplied with nuclear weapons, describing this possibility as "a unique opportunity for unity."

Russia reportedly has around 2,000 tactical nuclear warheads, and Moscow recently chose to move ahead with plans to station some nuclear weapons in Belarus for the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Lukashenko said: “If someone is concerned … I don’t think (Kazakh President) Khasim Tokayev is worried about this, but if something suddenly happens, no one minds that Kazakhstan and other countries have the same close relations that we have with Russia in the federation.”

"It's very simple," he added. The countries must join the union of Belarus with Russia, and that's it: there will be nuclear weapons for everyone.
