Germany affirms its support for the Syrian people and the political solution in accordance with International Resolution 2254
ARK News... Tobias Lindner, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in Germany, received a delegation of representatives of the Syrian Negotiation Commission, which included the representative of the Kurdish National Council in the Negotiating Commission, Ibrahim Biro, in Berlin.
Tobias affirmed on his official page on the social networking site "Twitter", on Friday, May 26, 2023, that his country will continue its unwavering support for the opposition and the Syrian people, and will continue to press for a comprehensive political solution led by the United Nations in line with Resolution 2254, and a conditions-based approach towards the regime.
The delegation of the Negotiating Commission also met with Stefan Schneck, the German special envoy to Syria, on Friday in the capital, Berlin.
The official account of the Syrian Negotiations Committee published on "Twitter" today, that the delegation of the Negotiating Committee, during its meeting with Stefan Schneck, stressed that the suffering of the Syrian people will continue without reaching a political solution based on international resolutions and the full implementation of Resolution 2254.
He added, "The commission's delegation stressed the necessity of holding the regime accountable for the crimes it committed in Syria, pushing for an end to the suffering of Syrians, and the release of detainees in the regime's prisons."
He added that Stefan Schneck affirmed his country's support for a political solution based on Resolution 2254, and he also renewed his country's position in support of the Syrian people and their demands.
