The conflict in Ukraine… An American statement portends difficult weeks

ARK News… Russia has come to depend on the political fatigue of the West.

Despite the Western assurance that neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian forces will achieve major gains in the near future, nor will they seize more lands, a high-ranking American statement changed concepts.

CIA Director William Burns said the next six months would be "decisive" regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

He added during a speech at Georgetown University that the next six months will be critical, explaining that Russia is now dependent on the political fatigue of the West.

He also saw that Washington does not believe that Moscow is serious about negotiating a settlement.

Ukraine is ahead of difficult weeks
The high-profile American announcement came despite Western officials adopting the idea that neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian forces will achieve major gains in the near future, nor will they control more lands.

The latest assessments from Ukraine's allies indicate that the latter will face some difficult weeks ahead.

Russia is preparing for a sweeping attack
American and European officials have reported that a Russian offensive appears imminent in the east, even as Kyiv prepares to receive more shipments of weapons for use in the south during the spring.

They also warned that neither side was likely to gain any more territory soon in a war that was still deeply bogged down.

In addition, they considered it unlikely that Russian forces would descend from the north through Belarus in any upcoming attack, according to Bloomberg Agency, on Friday.

A year of conflict
It is noteworthy that the Russian-Ukrainian war ends on the twenty-fourth of this month (February 2023), its first year, amid expectations that it will last for several months after.

A weapon that Putin fears in the conflict
On the other hand, Moscow, which has suffered some defeats and setbacks during the past months, especially in southern Ukraine, where its forces withdrew from a number of areas there, is planning to launch a massive attack during the spring.

While the West is sharpening its efforts to supply Kyiv with more advanced combat weapons, on top of which are modern tanks and long-range missiles, in the hope of radically changing the equation in favor of the Ukrainian forces.
