ARK News... Hasakah governorate recorded deaths of livestock and fisheries, due to the high pollution level resulting from the oil spill from the Tishreen field towards the southern dam lake.

Engineering sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, accused the SDF-affiliated groups that manage the Tishreen field of neglecting the maintenance of the field and not implementing safety measures, which exacerbated the oil spill crisis that has been going on for years, according to what was reported by Athar Press, a website close to the regime, today. Tuesday.

The sources indicated that the pollution was caused by the SDF directing the groundwater accompanying the oil extraction process towards valleys and agricultural lands near the Tishreen field, which caused the soil to be polluted with oil materials so that it became unfit for agricultural investment and caused great losses in crops.

The death toll among herds of livestock has recently increased, due to these herds drinking polluted and toxic water from the valleys in the vicinity of the Tishreen oil field, while large numbers of dead fish have been seen floating around the shores of the southern dam lake.

Catastrophic damage to humans
Last April, North Press published a report in which it talked about the prevalence of deformed children's births in the countryside of the city of Derik in Hasakah, which specialists linked to the pollution resulting from the oil burners spread in the region.

Doctor Faisal Ahmed, a pediatric specialist, said that fetal deformities have increased significantly, such as "brain atrophy, hypoxia, limb deformities, and others."

The doctor confirmed that the rate of asthma patients has increased by five times, in addition to allergic rhinitis, due to environmental pollution, which requires great efforts to change the health reality of the region.
