Qatar supports holding the Syrian regime accountable for its horrific crimes

ARK News… The State of Qatar has expressed its full support for international efforts aimed at holding the regime accountable for its horrific crimes against the Syrian people, including its use of chemical weapons in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta in April 2018, and ensuring that war criminals in Syria are brought to international justice.

In a statement, on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the recent report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which concluded that the Syrian regime was responsible for the heinous attack on the city of Douma, once again reveals to the world the ugliness and brutality of this unscrupulous and inhumane regime, which continues its horrific policy of massacres and land, burned and destroyed cities, crossing all the red lines imposed by morals, and required by law.

The Ministry stressed that any political solution in Syria will not lead to a successful and sustainable result without holding those involved in committing these atrocious crimes accountable. Security No. (2254), in a way that preserves the unity and sovereignty of Syria, and fulfills the aspirations of its people for security and stability.
