ARK News… The Syrian Civil Defense Organization "The White Helmets" confirmed that the education sector in Syria is similar to any other detail that has been exhausted by the years of war, and has become a clear scar.

It stressed in its report that the Syrian children are paying a heavy price for that their future, due to the systematic attacks of the Assad regime and its Russian ally, which have made schools and educational facilities a target, not only to destroy the infrastructure and kill children but to sentence the future of Syria to death.

The organization said that the Assad regime and Russia have destroyed thousands of schools in Syria with systematic attacks. Since 2019, rescue teams have responded to more than 140 attacks by the regime forces and their Russian ally on schools and educational facilities in northwestern Syria.

The attacks were distributed among 89 attacks in 2019, 40 attacks in 2020, more than 7 attacks in 2021, and 3 attacks in 2022.

It explained that wars leave effects that do not end easily, but the most dangerous of all is when they target educational facilities, because generations will be destroyed, and a future will be destroyed with them, and its disastrous results will remain for decades to come.

It stressed that children cannot be left to the unknown, "We must ensure their protection, the protection of their schools, and enable them to obtain education in order to reshape the present and reach a more just, sustainable, and peaceful future."
