Turkish newspaper: Syrian refugees fear repercussions of rapprochement between "Ankara and Damascus"
ARK News… The Turkish newspaper "Evrensil" highlighted the state of anxiety experienced by the Syrian refugees in Turkey, for fear of the repercussions of the rapprochement between Ankara and Damascus, especially the results of the possible meeting between Turkish President "Erdogan" and Bashar al-Assad.
The newspaper met a number of refugees, who confirmed that reaching the meeting point with Assad creates confusion among the refugees and that the general feeling among them is anxiety. For this reason, the majority of refugees believe that they should not meet with Assad.
The refugees pointed out that the phrases "voluntary return", "safe return" and "the agreement with al-Assad" began to be widely heard, after the change in the official position, which was refusing to send the Syrians or even sit with al-Assad.
The newspaper said that the Syrian refugees suffer from a "shock of confidence" regarding the recent developments between Turkey and the Syrian regime, although the Turkish government initially attracted migrants to its side, things have changed now.
According to an assessment by the Immigration Office, Turkey has its own scores regarding the talks, and these are not accounts that the government can easily abandon but when it comes to politics, there are no enemies forever.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the number of refugees returning to Syria will increase whenever the diplomatic contacts that Turkey has been conducting for some time with Russia and the Assad regime bear fruit.
He said that "new violations are constantly added to the gross violations that ignore human rights, freedom and dignity in many parts of the world, from Syria to Palestine, from Yemen to Arakan, and from East Turkistan to Africa," in a speech he delivered, Wednesday, during the international conference. The Ombudspersons are held in the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.
Erdogan stressed that the return of Syrian refugees is accelerating whenever the security atmosphere improves in northern Syria, stressing that about 500,000 Syrian refugees have returned to date to the places that we have turned into safe areas, and stressed that his country will continue to perform the duty of brotherhood, neighborhood, and humanity until an environment of peace, stability, and peace is created. in Syria.
