Oglu assures Pedersen of Turkey's support for Resolution 2254, the political process, and the Constitutional Committee
ARK News… Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, in the capital, Ankara.
Cavusoglu tweeted on his Twitter account, Monday, saying: "I met the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Pedersen."
He added, "We renewed our support for UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254, the political process, and the Constitutional Committee."
Recently, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said that he might meet with his counterparts, the Foreign Minister of Assad, Faisal al-Miqdad, and the Russian Sergey Lavrov, in early February. It seems that there are obstacles that necessitated the postponement of the meeting scheduled for the middle of this month.
The minister said in a statement to reporters that "the meeting between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, and the Syrian regime may take place in early February."
