Al-Assad's foreign minister stipulates "ending the occupation and stopping supporting terrorism" to meet the Turkish side
ARK News… Al-Assad's Foreign Minister, Faisal Al-Miqdad, linked any meetings with the Turkish side to what he called "the foundations of respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, ending the occupation, and stopping support for terrorism."
Al-Miqdad said during a press conference held with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian that relations between the regime and Turkey were normal before 2011, stressing that the regime seeks in all its moves and efforts to "end terrorism" that has disturbed these relations, as he described it.
Al-Miqdad stressed that the meeting with the Turkish leadership depends on removing the causes that led to the current situation.
For his part, "Abdullahian" stressed the need to "respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states," adding that his country will continue its diplomatic efforts to bring rapprochement and solve the outstanding problems between the Assad regime and Turkey.
Abdullahi added: The relations between Iran and Syria are going through their best conditions, and the two countries are determined to expand them economically and commercially to reach the level of political relations.
Al-Miqdad pointed out that what he described as "American looting" of our oil and agricultural capabilities prevents securing the needs of the Syrian people, continuing: "We say to those who cut off water from our people that this policy of theirs will soon come to an end."
The criminal Bashar Al-Assad received this afternoon the Iranian Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation in the capital, Damascus, and expressed that his regime is keen on continuous communication and coordination of positions with Iran on a permanent basis.
