Hajo to ARK: The Turkish rapprochement with the regime affected the Russian approval of the entry of aid through Bab al-Hawa
ARK News... Siyamand Hajo, head of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, said that Russia has always opposed the entry of humanitarian aid across the Turkish border on the pretext that it is illegal, as it wants to exploit the file of introducing humanitarian aid for the benefit of its ally, the Syrian regime.
The members of the UN Security Council unanimously agreed to extend the mechanism for delivering humanitarian aid to millions of Syrians through the Bab al-Hawa crossing on the border with Turkey for a period of 6 months. Washington welcomed the decision, while Moscow confirmed that its approval does not mean a change in its position.
Siyamand Hajo confirmed, during his participation in the ARK newsletter, that changing the Russian position on the introduction of humanitarian aid through Turkey, contrary to its previous positions and not using the veto, shows that the Turkish rapprochement with the Syrian regime, under its sponsorship, affected in one way or another the Russian decision to enter aid through Bab al-Hawa.
He explained that the displaced people in Idlib live a life in which the most basic necessities of life are lacking, and stopping humanitarian aid means stopping the lifeline of two million Syrian people, especially children, women, the elderly, and the sick.
He pointed out that Russia is using the file of introducing humanitarian aid as a pressure card to float and strengthen the regime and force the displaced to go towards the regime and divert aid to the regime-held areas, thus restoring the control of the areas outside its control.
At the end of his speech, he said that the non-entry of aid means the occurrence of humanitarian disasters, as millions of Syrians breathed a sigh of relief with the decision to enter humanitarian aid through the Bab al-Hawa crossing.
