Politician to ARK: The regime is clinically dead, and As-Suwaidaa initially joined the revolution but was met with the machine of repression
ARK News... The Kurdish politician Saadoun Sheikho on Monday, January 2, 2023, said that the As-Suwaidaa governorate was part of the revolution, but it has become a victim of the Syrian regime's repression machine, like the rest of the Syrian regions.
Sheikho continued that the province of As-Suwaidaa, despite its privacy and its embrace of the Druze, was involved in the Syrian revolution from the beginning and adopted the slogans of the revolution, but it was subjected to a machine of repression and targeting of young men by the Syrian regime, and yet it continued in one form and another in the revolution and the demand for the overthrow of the regime. The recent protests are a continuation of the primitive movement and will positively affect the solution to the Syrian crisis.
He indicated by saying during his participation in the ARK newsletter that there were efforts to form an Autonomous Administration in it with Russian efforts, but Russia's preoccupation with the Ukrainian war led to its withdrawal, which created a state of fear and panic among Israel and Jordan due to the control of Iranian militias instead of the withdrawing Russian forces from the region.
At the end of his speech, he said that the Syrian regime will not be able to implement the demands of the protesters in As-Suwaidaa to release the detainees and improve the living conditions because it is weak and clinically dead. Nevertheless, it will resort to its method and use the machine of repression to end the state of tension and protests.
