Russia is working to organize a meeting between Bashar al-Assad and Erdogan
ARK News... The Russian President's Special Envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, stated that Moscow is now working to organize a meeting between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Turkish president had previously announced the possibility of meeting his Syrian counterpart, after which the journalist Abdul Qadir Selfi, who is close to government departments, wrote in the Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet" that the meeting of the two presidents could take place in Russia through the mediation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Lavrentiev, the possibility of holding a meeting of the two presidents was "always present", and Moscow supports that, and the presidential envoy continued, in an interview with Al-Arabiya channel: "I repeat that Turkey should consider this (meeting), as we believe that such a meeting will be positive and beneficial in general, and we are working in this direction.
