ARK News... The Assyrian Organization condemned the practices of the PYD administration in preventing the convening of the Kurdish National Council conference in Syria, and called for stopping these practices and reviewing its policies in all fields in a way that serves stability, provides development opportunities for our region, and meets the needs of the people there. ARK has received a copy of the statement, which reads:

the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, which is dominated by the Democratic Union Party, on Monday 14/11/2022, prevented the Kurdish National Council in Syria from holding its fourth conference, which was scheduled to be held in Zana Hall in the city of Qamishli, under the pretext of the absence of A license as a pretext to prevent the conference from being held, and after moving the conference venue to one of the headquarters of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, the Asayish forces once again raided the headquarters and forced the conference members out of the hall. In a move aimed at limiting the political activity of the Kurdish National Council, and came as a continuation of a series of harassments practiced by the Autonomous Administration and the influential forces in it against the Kurdish National Council, its parties, and leaders.

The Assyrian Democratic Organization, while expressing its full solidarity with the Kurdish National Council in Syria and its support for its right to engage in peaceful political activity without permission from anyone, at the same time condemns the decision of the Autonomous Administration to prevent the holding of the fourth conference of the Kurdish National Council, and considers it a flagrant violation Freedom of expression approved by international human rights conventions, and the ban decision is considered a step towards stifling and restricting public freedoms and abolishing competition and political pluralism, which at this stage requires more dialogue and interaction between the various political forces in order to enhance their ability to face the challenges and dangers the country is going through.

Therefore, we call on the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to stop these practices, and to review its policies in all fields in a way that serves stability, provides development opportunities for our region, and meets the needs of the people there.
