Report on the meeting of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria

The Central Committee, on Friday, 10/14/2022, held its meeting in Qamishlo, in the presence of the Party Secretary, comrade Saud Al-Mulla.

After standing a minute of silence in mourning and honoring the immortal Barzani spirit and the souls of the martyrs of our Kurdish people and the martyrs of the Syrian revolution, the meeting dealt with a number of issues of the social, political and organizational situation, most notably the deteriorating economic and living situation throughout the country, especially the regions of Western Kurdistan (Syrian Kurdistan), especially after the drop in the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against foreign currencies, which increased the tremendous rise in the prices of goods and materials necessary for life, in exchange for the low wages of labor with the ever-increasing unemployment, as the purchasing power of large segments of society fell, in addition to the spread of negative phenomena such as corruption, robbery, and the imposition of more royalties on citizens. , not to mention the worrying security situation, both in terms of the Turkish bombardment, which is almost daily on villages and towns along the border strip, or in terms of the pursuit of young men for forced conscription, and the kidnapping of minors for the same purpose and goal, which makes the situation pressing towards more youth migration outside the country.

There is no doubt that the situation is worse in the areas of "Sari Kaniye Gire Spi, Afrin" due to the continuous violations by the armed factions that control the situation there, and in Afrin, the situation has increased in terror after the military battles between the armed factions for their efforts to gain more areas of influence for them, and what increased to intimidate the people, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham “Jabhat al-Nusra” moved and invaded the area to support some of them close to it against others, which increases anxiety and tension and increases the risks of the security situation in the region, and what raises suspicion that these developments come in the context of consensus between the two Turkish regimes the Syrian one is a “scenario” in preparation for the next stage, and the international side may have something to do with that.

On the Syrian crisis and its consequences, the meeting saw that diplomatic efforts regarding an international political solution are stumbling or faltering in place, although Geir Pedersen is still sticking to the (step-by-step) option and that the international community does not yet see an alternative to the Geneva 1 reference base and International Resolution 2254. A comprehensive political solution to the Syrian crisis.

The meeting also stopped at the situation in Iran and reviewed the recent developments in it after the martyrdom of the militant "Gina Amini" under brutal torture at the hands of the mullahs, and the start of demonstrations, sit-ins, and strikes turned into a massive mass uprising that includes most of the national, ethnic, sectarian and political components, with broad international support. Accordingly, the attendees saw that the situation in Iran is not stable no matter how brutal the uprising is faced with brutal repression, and even confronted with the military and live weapons and that the situation in Iran is destined to further aggravate, especially as the economic and living aspect is heading towards extreme poverty for most social groups and segments, not to mention the economic sanctions, and the subject of negotiations on the nuclear file stumbled.

In the situation of Iraq, the meeting expressed its satisfaction with the victory of the Kurdish consensus candidate, "Dr. Abdel Latif Rashid" for the position of President of the Republic, and this victory may be the beginning of overcoming the intractable political crisis, and the attendees saw that Erbil is the center of the Kurdish decision and that the militant President Masoud Barzani is known for his spirit of initiative. Creative in times of crises, and the Kurdistan Region, under its leadership and wisdom, will not be a party to the crisis or problem, but rather an essential part of the solution, whether within the region and the Kurdish home or at the level of the whole of Iraq.

Regarding the Kurdish National Council conference, and after discussing the requirements and preparations for this conference, including the organizational and political documents, and even the elections, the elections have been completed. Therefore, the attendees saw the necessity of holding the conference at the earliest appropriate opportunity, as it was long overdue, and all those interested and concerned are eagerly and closely following it.

Finally, before concluding the meeting, the attendees dealt with a number of partisan and organizational issues, and the need to work towards holding the party’s general conference, whether because the time of its convening has exceeded, or because of the necessities of the stage and the political developments that are witnessing the require preparation for it through a critical review, in order to strengthen the struggle path, and consolidate the struggle constants according to the Kurdish approach, “Barzani’s Immortal Approach,” and in line with the Kurdistan national project, which is led by the struggling President Masoud Barzani with vigor and power.
