Ahmed Sofi is still detained
ARK News: PYD militants admitted in the town of Girke Lake belonging to Derik city in Kurdistan, Syria arresting the media and correspondent in the ARK Media Foundation and A member of the Area Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, Ahmad Sofi yesterday, after his abduction on Monday.
According to ARK sources that PYD called The family of Ahmed Sofi on Tuesday 23/10/2018, and during the family's review to the center of Asayish of PYD in the town of Girke Lake, the officials of the center confirmed that Ahmad Sofi was arrested because he is a journalist and because of his media work.
The source added that the news of his release was out of reality and that the officials confirmed to the family that if something was proved to him, he would be transferred to a court and if the charge did not prove to him, he would be released.
Ahmed Sofi works as a correspondent for the ARK Media Foundation in Derik since the establishment of the foundation and was kidnapped on Monday 22/10/2018 in Bana Qasir – Derik road.
