ARK News... The gunmen of Al-Amshat imposed new royalties on the Kurds in Shiye town and its villages in the countryside of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan.
A special source in the town told ARK on Saturday, October 1, 2022, that in conjunction with the olive harvest season, the gunmen of Al-Amshat began imposing new royalties on the remaining Kurds, the displaced, as well as the expatriates.
The source confirmed: Except that the properties of the displaced Kurds in the al-Shahba camps are completely under the control of the militias, and the number of trees is estimated at 270,000 olive trees, the tax rate on the trees belonging to the expatriates in Turkey, Lebanon, Kurdistan Region, and Europe is $5 for each fruitful and non-fruitful tree.
The source added: As for those in the town, the militants imposed 5% of the oil production.
The al-Amshat militia has controlled the center of Shiye town and 18 other villages, since 2018, and since then the residents have been suffering from the taxes imposed on them.
