Ibrahim Biro: "We brought the pain and suffering of the Kurdish people to the officials of the Syrian file in America"

Ibrahim Biro, a member of the Syrian Negotiating Committee, representing the Kurdish National Council in Syria, said that they conveyed the suffering of the Kurdish people to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the UN envoy to Syria, and the political official at the United Nations.

In a post on Facebook, followed by ARK, Biro said: "At the conclusion of our visit to New York on Monday, September 26, a meeting was held with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres, Mr. Geir Pedersen, the UN envoy to Syria, and Mrs. Rosmaya, the political officer at the United Nations, and the President of the United Nations spoke. The Negotiating Committee of the Syrian opposition about the developments in the political process, as well as all the members of the delegation, including the head of the coalition, the head of the interim government, the joint head of the Constitutional Committee, and the representative of the Kurdish National Council, each of them about some aspects related to the Syrian situation. The rights of the Kurdish people in Syria, and our problem is with the Syrian government and not with another party or country.”

He added: "We also suffer in our areas from targeting education, as we indicated to the protest that will be organized by the civil society force and students' parents in front of the United Nations headquarters in Qamishlo regarding education, and there was talk about the kidnapping of minors, the suppression of opponents and the militarization of society, all of these practices by the PYD administration, We also suffer from the presence of ISIS detainees in large numbers in our areas without international attention and care, in addition to the suffering of the Kurdish people in other areas."

He continued: "The Secretary-General had a clear response on all issues and affirmed the commitment of the United Nations to the political process in Syria despite the difficulties that are facing, and stressed that the United Nations deals with only two parties in Syria, namely the Syrian government and the negotiating body, and it will not receive any other party."
