President Nechirvan Barzani receives the new South Korean consul

ARK News… The President of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, on Sunday, September 25, 2022, received Mr. Jo Kijunk, the new Consul General of the Republic of South Korea in the Kurdistan Region.

In addition to welcoming the new South Korean consul and congratulating him on assuming his duties, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed during the meeting all support for the success of the consul's duties and expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Kurdistan Region for the humanitarian aid, skill- building assistance and support provided by South Korea to the Kurdistan Region through the Olive Military Team and the Korean KOICA Agency.

For his part, the South Korean Consul General stressed that the relations between his country and the Kurdistan Region are distinguished, expressing his hope to be able to raise them to higher and broader levels. He gave an overview of his country's presence and activities in the Kurdistan Region, encouraging the Korean private sector and investment opportunities available in the Kurdistan Region for Korean companies.
